Shabby chic living room inspiration from the web

There is no ending to my love for shabby chic... even if I must admit I don't like when it's too frilly. So here's an eye candy post for you to take inspiration from.

It's summer people, go and decorate your living room. You don't necessarily need to buy but recycle, change position and create unique point of view in your house. Keyword of the day: UNEXPECTED.
Have fun!

Kraft deco ideas

Hello Mad Pinkettes,

sorry for me not posting as regular but a newborn baby that doesn't sleep makes you a bit slow during the day.
While reading some sites looking for packaging ideas for the Christmas presents I found this via Hey Look, a great source of ideas:

A DIY tutorial on how to make your own geometric table runners. We're loving the cut of these, and the dotted runner is so cute! Tutorial by Jordan Ferney of Oh Happy Day (photos: Pretty Simple Productions)

Beautiful calligraphy adds so much elegance to kraft! We found the idea in this summer cherry wedding (photography by Jose Villa).

Another geometric runner spotted in this inspiration shoot featured on SMP // photo: Rachel Peters

A kraft table setting for a flower work shop. Pretty! Featured on 100 Layer Cake // photography: Scott Clark

But I've also found this:

 not just for kids tables...
 from Sweet Paul

or this
Decorate kraft paper bags for unique elementary school valentines
from Grey Likes baby

but I have so many other ideas in mind. Vintage ones using doilies, washi tape and a lot of recycled ribbons.

Enjoy!

Shabby kitchen in a new building...what a challenge. First the kitchen!

Finally I've decide to buy a new house!
The renovations of the old one were more than an investment and with the new baby coming I've decided to be a new house owner. Of course trying to match a new building with the love for shabby is a bit of a challenge but I've decided to take one room at the time and today it's time to plan the kitchen.
Here some examples I thought they could match:

For these first 2 pictures I'd love to add red or yellow accessories and small appliances because of the floor colour and the dark bench. I've personally chosen a dark charkcoal bench as my floor is white beech wood but if you have a really dark wood floor, I'd consider the following...

For these last 3 pictures for example, I'd use teal blue accessories, vases, old jars like vintage Masons ones. Also I've noticed that metallic appliances would work too and they would help to merge new and old styles.

Soon, I'm going to show you all the results of all the hard work I've done in blending a new house with shabby chic but in the meantime if you are in love with these kitchens you can find them here at Kleenmaid appliances where I got these photos from.

Picnic inspired wedding decor

"Each napkin had a different ring treatment. The napkin rings were a fun DIY project. I got knobs from Anthropologie, clipped off the screws so that they would lay flat, and then created the ring by using two different types of ribbon (including that beautiful vintage velvet ribbon I found on etsy) and hot gluing the knob to the ribbon. Super easy and super cute.

We also used some additional knobs on the table to add a little extra charm"
